Environmental Impact Assessments

OIKOS Ltd has so far undertaken twenty three such studies, a number of which are related to Greek Natura 2000 sites. Some of them concern energy projects, others transport projects, waste management projects, hydraulic projects and fisheries management.

The tasks involved in the elaboration of Environmental Impact Assessments (Law No. 1650/86, Joint Ministerial Decision 69269/5387/90) are: identification of the ecological characteristics of the area to be affected by the project (or projects) in question, as well as of the ecological requirements of the species/ habitats in need of protection in that area. The potential benefits / threats of the project in question are examined and management proposals for the project area are elaborated. It is worth mentioning that some of the projects have a regional character.
